China's Baihetan Dam gw-class turbine unit completed
Chengdu-The last core component of the million-kilowatt generating unit of Baihetan Hydropower Station in China-the water separator has been completed. The distributor weighs more than 870 tons and was developed by Sichuan Dongfang Electric Co., Ltd., a leading Chinese motor manufacturer. The company said that as a key component to control the direction and flow of the water, the distributor has achieved high technical indicators in the vertical clearance, end clearance and concentricity of the guide vanes. Based on the successful experience of the construction of large hydropower stations such as the Three Gorges and Xiluodu, Dongfang Electric has carried out a series of technological innovations to improve product performance, reliability and expected service life. Gate leakage has been reduced to one-tenth of normal levels to avoid major losses in efficiency. The company stated that the 0.05 mm concentricity of the installation was also above the highest quality standards. On the Jinsha River in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, the installed capacity of the Baihetan Dam is second only to the Three Gorges Project in central Hubei Province.
