The theme of this event is "Dedicated to Clean Energy and Energy Revolution", which aims to showcase China's scientific and technological achievements in the field of clean energy and strengthen international exchanges. May 16th marks the opening ceremony and the main forum. Eleven well-known experts such as Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency, shared their views with members of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the National Academy of Engineering, and the Australian Academy of Sciences. The development strategy, technological progress, industrial policy and engineering management of global clean energy were extensively discussed. Keynote topics and reports range from clean thermoelectric technologies to carbon capture and storage technologies. Experts shared their views on clean energy at a forum in Beijing on May 16. Significant achievements have been made. Ants have made progress in the green development and clean use of coal, and have made due contributions to the sustainable future of themselves and all humankind. But even so, Li Yanhong said: "There is still a long way to go to establish a clean energy system." China Energy Chairman Wang Xiangxi said that in recent years, China Energy has seriously promoted the upgrading of its industrial structure and has made great achievements in ultra-low emission coal power, intelligent and efficient power generation, and coal-to-oil. The Group will work with all parties to strengthen scientific and technological collaborative innovation, comprehensively promote the clean and efficient use of traditional energy, and support the large-scale development of renewable and new energy. "We will also accelerate the transformation of China's energy system into a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient modern energy system, and make new contributions to global energy change and clean energy development," Wang Xiaodong added. China Energy Director Zhang Jianhua said that in recent years, China's clean energy industry has developed rapidly. By the end of 2018, China's installed capacity of clean energy has exceeded 700 gigawatts, accounting for 30% of global installed capacity. Hydropower installed capacity is 350 million kilowatts, wind power installed capacity is 180 million kilowatts, and photovoltaic power generation installed capacity is 170 million kilowatts. The first three nuclear power projects have been put into operation, and the total installed capacity of nuclear power under construction has reached 58 million kilowatts. On May 17, four parallel forums were also launched, named "Clean Thermal Power Technology Forum", "New and Renewable Energy Power Technology Forum", "Smart Power Technology Forum" and "The Fifth China International Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage Forum.
