1. Basic operation

2. Device operation
1) Initial setting When starting the generator and XES-07 for the first time, follow the steps below:
Before the device is put into operation, the power supply must be turned on to check whether the device is intact. After the AC power supply is turned on:
The power indicator is on, the LCD is normal, and the communication indicator is blinking.
Set the relevant parameters of the unit according to the instructions of the man-machine interface and save them.
Confirm that the device is normal before putting it into operation.
2) Initial start-up If the unit has just been installed and the regulator is in a power-off state, you can refer to the following steps for the initial start-up operation:
a) The generator has completed the impulse rotation test, and the performance of each test result is intact.
b) The comprehensive protection test of the generator is completed, and the protection action connected to the excitation is normal, the remote control operation of the excitation is normal, and the performance of each test result is intact.
c) The governor adjustment idling test is completed, and the performance of each test result is intact.
d) Check the wiring of the excitation device according to the schematic diagram, and check that each power supply fuse is in the closed position.
e) The output circuit of the controller is well connected to the generator winding.
f) Check the original side of the power supply insurance, and confirm that it is correct.
g) After normal pressure build-up, carry out various static tests and adjust PID parameters to make the unit stable and reliable at no load.
h) After the normal voltage build-up is normal, it must be switched to the constant current position before the first grid connection (with no load). After a certain load, check the excitation to show reactive and active power, and the power factor is consistent with the actual situation before switching to constant voltage. position.
i) After the grid connection, observe the excitation dynamometer display before performing the various excitation tests after the grid connection, and correct the PID parameters again to make the unit load stable and reliable operation. And according to the actual requirements of operation, then set the relevant functions and test whether the reliable operation through testing.
At this point, the initial start-up is completed. After the parameters are confirmed, they are recorded and archived for inspection during maintenance.
3) Switch on If the unit has just finished overhaul or overhaul, the regulator is in a power-off state. Refer to the following steps when starting up:
a) Restore the wiring of the excitation device that was opened during the maintenance period, and check that the power supply fuses are in the closed position.
b) The output circuit of the controller is well connected to the generator winding.
c) Check the original side of the power supply insurance, and confirm that it is correct.
After the above steps are completed, the unit can start up and boost. If the unit is already in operation, the operator should check item 3 during regular inspections.
The generator pressure must meet the following conditions:
a) The output circuit of the controller is well connected to the generator winding.
b) The generator outlet circuit breaker is not closed (the generator is under no load).
c) Fast boost: Operate the "start-up" button to start the fast boost process from zero. The generator's terminal voltage will rise to the voltage preset value previously set by the regulator. Normally, this preset value is set to 100% rated.
4) Stop operation
a) Reduce active load to zero.
b) Reduce the reactive load to zero.
c) The generator and system are decommissioned, and a “stop” or “demagnetization” signal is sent from the central control room or on-site, and the terminal voltage is automatically reduced to zero.
3. Periodic maintenance The only periodic maintenance required by Olide XES-07 excitation controller is to regularly check whether the connection between XES-07 and the system is clean and firm. XES-07 unit is manufactured with advanced surface mount technology. Therefore, non-specialized professionals are advised not to perform any maintenance.
4. Troubleshooting If XES-07 does not work properly, first check the corresponding function setting value. When encountering problems during the excitation system operation, refer to the following troubleshooting methods.
1) The generator cannot establish voltage. Step 1 Check that all wiring is properly connected. See the typical wiring diagram of the system. If the wiring is wrong or loose, reconnect it correctly. If the wiring is correct, go to step 2.
Step 2 Check whether the generator has risen to the rated speed. If the generator does not reach the rated speed, increase the generator speed to the rated speed. If the generator rises to rated speed, proceed to step 3.
Step 3 If XES-07 uses the self-excitation power input mode, check whether the residual voltage applied to the input terminals is higher than 5Vac. If the residual voltage is lower than 5Vac, refer to the generator manual to provide initial excitation for the generator's magnetic field. If the residual voltage is equal to 5Vac or higher, proceed to step 4.
Step 4 Check if all fuses are normal. If any fuse is broken, replace the fuse. If all fuses are OK, go to step 5.
Step 5 Check whether the “LCD display operation status is constant voltage operation status, and whether the unit residual voltage and frequency display are normal. If normal, proceed to step 6.
Step 6 Check whether the LCD display excitation transformer group is consistent with the actual situation. If so, go to Step 7 and Step 7 to check whether the PID setting value of XES-07 is appropriate. If the set value is not appropriate, adjust the set value. If the start setting is correct, proceed to step 8.
Step 8 Replace XES-07 Excitation Controller
2) The generator output voltage is too low. Step 1 Check whether the voltage reference is too low. If the voltage reference is too low, adjust to the correct reference. If the voltage reference is correct, proceed to step 2.
Step 2 Check whether the generator PT voltage range in the LCD is consistent with the actual situation, and then proceed to Step 3 normally.
Step 3 Check whether the generator has risen to the rated speed. If the generator does not reach the rated speed, increase the generator speed to the rated speed. If the generator rises to rated speed, proceed to step 4.
Step 4 If XES-07 uses parallel excitation power input, check whether the excitation transformer (if used) is correct, the capacity is correct, and the voltage output provided to the XES-07 power input terminal is correct. If the excitation transformer ratio is incorrect, the capacity is too small, or the supplied voltage is not suitable, replace the excitation transformer. If the excitation transformer is OK, go to step 5.
Step 5 Check whether the measuring voltage transformer (if used) is correct and whether it can operate normally. If the voltage transformer ratio is incorrect, replace the voltage transformer. If the voltage transformer is operating normally, go to step 6.
Step 6 Check if the PID setting of XES-07 is appropriate. If the set value is inappropriate, adjust the set value. If the start setting is correct, go to step 7.
Step 7 Replace the XES-07 unit.
3) The output voltage of the generator is too high. Step 1 Check whether the voltage reference is too high. If the voltage reference is too high, adjust to the correct reference. If the voltage reference is correct, proceed to step 2.
Step 2 Check whether the voltage transformer (if used) for measurement is correct. If the ratio of the voltage transformer is incorrect, replace the appropriate voltage transformer. If the voltage transformer is OK, go to step 3.
Step 3 Check whether the generator PT voltage range in the LCD is consistent with the actual situation, and then proceed to Step 4 normally.
Step 4 Check whether the excitation power unit is faulty. Turn off the power switch. Use a multimeter to check if the power unit is short-circuited to the neutral line. If the resistance is less than Hao thousands of euros, the power unit is faulty. Replace the XES-07 power unit.
4) Generator output is unstable (oscillation)
Step 1 Check that the governor of the prime mover works properly. If the governor does not work properly, troubleshoot according to the method recommended in the instruction manual. If the governor is operating normally, proceed to step 2.
Step 2 Check that the test and input power wiring is secure. If the test and input power wiring is not secure, tighten the wiring. If the test and input power wiring is secure, proceed to step 3.
Step 3 Check whether the system has multiple generators running side by side. If there are multiple generators running directly in parallel, check whether the positive adjustment coefficient is set. Otherwise, a 10% positive adjustment coefficient should be set. If the coefficient is set, go to step 4.
Step 4 Check if the PID parameter of XES-07 is set to the correct value. If the PID parameters are set incorrectly, reset the values.
5) Over-excitation limit Step 1 Check whether the generator is overloaded. If the generator is running above the rated load, cut off the load. If the generator is at or below the rated load, proceed to step 2.
Step 2 Check if the XES-07 output (excitation) current limit is set too low. If the output current limit is set too low, adjust to the correct value. If the output current limit is set correctly, go to step 3.
Step 3 Check whether the excitation current of the generator is consistent with XES-07. If the actual excitation current of the generator is inconsistent with XES-07, please set the excitation current ratio in the LCD display to be consistent with the actual sensor. If the excitation current requirements of the exciter are consistent with XES-07, go to step 4.
Step 4 Replace the XES-07 unit. If the fault cannot be rectified after replacing the XES-07 unit, go to step 5.
Step 5 Refer to the generator manual. The generator is faulty.
6) Over-excitation protection Step 1 Check whether the generator is overloaded. If the generator runs above the rated load, cut off the load. If the generator is at or below rated load, proceed to step 2.
The second step is to check whether the excitation current of the generator is consistent with XES-07. If the actual excitation current of the generator is inconsistent with XES-07, please set the excitation current ratio in the LCD display to be consistent with the actual sensor. If the excitation current requirements of the generator are consistent with XES-07, go to step 3.
Step 3 Replace the XES-07 unit. If the fault cannot be rectified after replacing the XES-07 unit, go to step 4. Step 4: Refer to the generator manual. The generator is faulty.
